Working in the retail area, helping with stock sorting and pricing, assisting customers, display work and shop windows. Working on the till & money handling. Through this experience you will learn customer service, monetary and organizational skills.
There will be lots of different tasks each day, such as:
• Sorting and preparing donated items.
• Greeting and serving customers.
• Keeping the shop tidy & organised.
• Steaming clothes and hanging them.
• Visual merchandising on the shop floor.
Please apply only if staying one week, for longer placements, being a small place with a lot of volunteers to do them, we feel we have limited tasks.
Work will involve: Sorting, serving, helping out, greeting customers, keeping the place tidy.
Sort through stock donations,
Decide what we want to sell and for how much, preparing items for e-sales or shop floor merchandising
Customer care and selling to the public,
Help raise money for cancer research,
Prepare a marketing plan for the shop to promote online conventions or events at the ship depending on the period of the work placement. Sorf out games library. Other tasks according to skills.
Sorting out a relatively big shop with all sorts of donations including furniture. Receiving stock, pricing ticketing, stock rotation, customer care and till work. All depending on needs and skills, both language and personal.
Many of our volunteers offer at least one 4-hour shift each week however you can discuss your availability with the shop manager who will let you know when vacancies exist.

Customer service, till work, serving customers. Pricing, sorting and displaying goods. Cashing the takings. Some computer use (below 20 hours a week, usually just an hour or so)
Welcome visitors, answer questions, serve custmers and sell merchandise, make hot drinks. For events: help in preparing and running events for both adults and children, tidying up afterwards. In the windmill only shadwing when staffe is wring on the machinery but may be asked to weigh and pack the flour.

Students will experience what it is like to work in various departments within a heritage site which is focused on the law, justice system and crime and punishment. Students will also be given the opportunity to get involved in project work.

Support staff, interact with the children, if they want they can think of activities, plan and carry them out. Join in with singing, story times, artwork. Assist the children during meal times. We wouldn't expect students to help with toileting.
